In accordance with the Planning Commission’s strategy for PT&D development, the Pakistan government had allocated PKR 53 billion to NTDC and PEPCO.

The Pakistan government has allocated a sum of PKR 53.007 billion to the National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) and Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) towards the Annual Public Sector Development Programme during the fiscal year 2022-23.

The Planning Commission has compiled the data on financial allocation undertaken by the Pakistan government towards various NTDC/PEPCO projects. A sum of PKR 42,983.26 million, PKR 20,773.43 million foreign aid component, was allocated against which PKR 49,131.40 million have been spent. Until January 2023, the foreign aid component of PKR 39,566.83 million was disbursed.
NTDC has been allocated PKR 2,000 million for 220 kV Swabi Substation and PKR 1,500 million for 220/132 kV GIS Substation Dhabiji. PEPCO has been allocated PKR 1,200 million for 500 kV Allama Iqbal Industrial City, PKR 750 million for ABC Cable for Peshawar, and PKR 600 million for Bannu Circle. Additionally, PKR 7,500 million for Makran Network’s interconnection, and PKR 395 million for 132 kV Grid Station (Khan Mehterzai) construction has also been allocated already.
