Sarvasv Machinery & Equipments Pvt. Ltd.: A Wide Range of Rotating Machines

Stranding machines, extrusion lines, armoring machines, anti-torsion machines, and other wire & cable machinery including a wide range of ancillary equipments constitute SARVASV’s portfolio.

SarvasvSARVASV, over a period of time, has become an acknowledged maker and supplier of wire and cable related machineries. With a large export volume, the company commands a hugely diversified portfolio for the machinery needs of the wire and cable industry. Stranding machines, extrusion lines, armoring machines, anti-torsion machines, and other wire and cable machinery including a wide range of ancillary equipments constitute SARVASV’s portfolio. Equipped with cutting-edge technologies at its Bhiwadi unit, this company has been experimenting a lot to come up with efficient tool and technology for manufacturing wire and cable with much ease and lesser cost.

Wire & Cable India recently interviewed Mr. Varun Kapoor, Director, Sarvasv Machinery & Equipments Private Limited where he detailed us about company’s focus, developments, and his views about the Indian wire and cable industry. Excerpts:

Wire & Cable India: Brief us about your journey since 1984 to becoming one of the leading machinery suppliers to the wire and cable industry?

Varun Kapoor: We began with exporting wire and cable making machines procured within India, and received good responses from our foreign clients because of the good quality of the machines we were giving at affordable prices backed with efficient after sales service.

With the passage of time, we established a strong foothold in the international markets and thought it prudent to enter the manufacturing zone with the acquired expertise. In the year 2000, we established a small manufacturing unit in Delhi, and received encouraging responses with bigger orders from our foreign clients.

Our business grew swiftly so much so that we had to set up a second unit in Faridabad. The success story continued and we shifted both the units to a new setup in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, having one of the most modern and sophisticated facility with a covered area of 40,000 sft on a land admeasuring 12,000 sq meters. Today with pride, we can state that we are the biggest manufacturer of complete range for rotating machines used in wire and cable industry in India

WCI: Your product portfolio seems to be quite extensive. What are the products which are used more comprehensively by the industry?

VK: We are leading manufacturer of rotating machine. All of our products in this range are in high demand due to advanced technological adaption and strong after sales support.

WCI: As a machine supplier and maker, can you tell us about the major bottlenecks as complained by the industry in stranding, armoring and extrusion which you try to address when designing machines?

VK: The initial complaints of the users were the low speed of the machines. Our design team worked hard for technological enhancement. We installed more sophisticated precision modern machines, worked on R & D, and overcame this problem. Now our range of production includes very high speed, efficient and operator friendly robust machines.

WCI: Tell us about your facilities and infrastructure including the technology used by you in making your products.

VK: We have a state-of-the-art manufacturing Plant in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan. The Plant has been splayed out in an entire area of 12000 sqm. Our company has an in-house capability for manufacturing a wide range of rotating machines. The starting phase for manufacturing of machine is the fabrication part, which is done through CNC plasma cutting machines and MIG/TIG/ARGON welding. The Second Phase of machining is done on automatic/semi automatic machines, CNC and VMC machines, cylindrical grinding machines, horizontal boring machines, plano miller, bed milling machines, conventional lathe and shaper machines. The third phase of assembly of components has also been automated by high speed drilling/tapping machines, bearing fitters. The entire plant is equipped with three Nos EOT Cranes for ease of assembly of machines

WCI: What is the ratio of domestic vs. overseas supply for Sarvasv? What are your major exporting destinations?

VK: The ratio is 40:60 of domestic vs. overseas sales. Our major exports are to the neighboring countries, Middle East, Africa and East Europe. We export to about 18 countries. In a nut shell, our machines have been accepted widely across the globe.

WCI: Any new development on product and process sides?

VK: We have developed ‘Drum Twisters’ up to 2600MM; drum and rigid stranders with automatic batch loading. Both of these projects are already under manufacturing phase against confirmed orders from our clients and the actual product shall be introduced in next two months. We are also going for expansion of our factory and shall be doubling the capacity. The new plant would be equipped with latest automation machinery for increasing the accuracy levels and production efficiencies

WCI: As a long standing supply to the wire and cable industry, your take on the present and future of the wire and cable industry?

VK: The cable and conductor industry is in healthy growth trajectory. There is huge power sector and infrastructure related plans in most part of the developing and under-developed countries. The present and future of wire and cables industries are very bright.

WCI: Do you wish to add something which might not have been covered by above question?

VK: Our Expansion programme has now taken off. We shall soon have additional 40,000 sq.ft state-of-the-art facility with latest high precision machines and equipment. With the increased production, we aspire to be the top Asian manufacturer of rotating machines.
