WCI: Kindly elaborate on the product portfolio along with the latest and upcoming product developments in your company.
NA: Our current offering of PVC and PE-based compounds and masterbatches comes with eco-friendly, non-toxic and non-polluting variants along with a cost-effective, tear-proof and recyclable packaging. Presently we are offering PVC and PE based compounds, color masterbatches and smart masterbatches with various variants suitable for wire and cable, automotive, medical, home appliances applications, among others.
Wire and cable is the first thing that comes in the structure of any new project. So all of our developments for the next few years will be based on key requirements like halogen-free, flame retardancy, non-toxic, electric vehicle, sustainability, E-beam. As we are expanding our production unit, we are actively working on development of halogen-free insulation and sheathing compounds with high flame retardancy, higher temperature performance and excellent flexibility to meet upcoming new requirements in the wire and cable segment.
All these developments require a very specific and mindful process. Our well-established lab team has understood this process and practiced to perfection over a period of time. The application of such products will directly contribute to public safety. We have developed a series of pre-colored PVC compounds for meeting requirements of extrusion and molding application for data cables, patch cords etc., as per various national and international standard like BIS, IEC, BS, UL, ROHS, REACH etc. for the mobile phones, mobile accessories and household appliances segments.

“Halogen-free compounds are in the top line in the manufacturing process and we see growing requirements of this product in the coming time.”
WCI: Tell us about your current market presence and growth plans in the Indian wires and cables market.
NA: Currently we are focused on the Indian market. We are known for our standardization, good customer response, and reliability which we developed over the period of time. We are planning to increase our capacity to 36000 TPA by FY2025. We have recently expanded our plant to increase annual capacity along with warehousing capabilities. This facility is equipped with automation in material handling and production process which helps us to improve quality and consistency of finished products. We also have a dedicated research and development centre for developing new innovative products for the wire and cable industry. With our latest product range, we will be focusing on increasing our customer base in eastern and southern India in the current FY. This FY we will also be focusing on marking a long-term sustainable presence in the international market especially in Africa and Middle East Asia.
WCI: How do you view the wire and cable industry and the market potential for your product line? What are the recent trends and the future you foresee?
NA: In the developing nation of India, the wire and cable market is segmented. India is a very big market with huge users of cables and wires, due to its continuous economic growth and infrastructure expansion. There are manufacturers that offer quality products, and invest in good quality infrastructure and manpower. There is a tremendous increase in production of mobile and communication wires, automotive, power cable and house wires which requires safety and environmental-friendly solutions. Presently in wire and cable applications, the use of flame retardants are crucial as it prevents fire hazards caused by currents or outside heat sources. Therefore, we are actively working on zero halogen flame retardant (ZHFR / HFFR / ZHLS) insulation and sheathing compounds.
Halogen-free compounds are in the top line in the manufacturing process and we see growing requirements of this product in the coming time. We are also seeing tremendous increase in production of e-beam based cables in India in recent times, so we are also currently working on development of PE and PVC compounds for e-beam cables, which will help customers to source material indigenously and lessen their dependence on imports.
