Leading manufacturers of wires and cables in the country, Havells India Limited, is planning to more than double its cable manufacturing capacity at its plant located in Alwar, Rajasthan, with an investment of INR 375 crore through internal accruals.
The company said in an exchange filing that it planned to increase its cable capacity from 32.90 lakh km per year to a proposed capacity addition of 41.20 lakh km per year.

The proposed capacity enhancement of around 25 percent in physical terms will be done in a phased manner by March 2026, in order to meet the increased demand requirements, it added.

Havells said that the existing capacity utilisation at its plant in Alwar, Rajasthan was around 70 percent. As per the company, the state-of-the-art plant, spread over an area of 404686 square metres in Alwar, was set up in 1996. It is one of the largest integrated single-location cable plants in the country, which caters to both domestic and industrial segments.
