Adani Group’s subsidiaries are investing crores towards the development of transmission link projects in Mumbai. AEML will invest over INR 2,000 crore to develop 2 transmission links, a combined length of 84 CKm, and AESL will invest INR 8,244 crore to develop an 80 km transmission link.

Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited (AEML), a part of Adani Group, will invest over INR 2,000 crore, with INR 1,700 crore debt-funded, to develop two transmission lines in Mumbai. The two transmission lines will have a combined length of 84 circuit kilometers – 34 kilometer long Kharghar-Vikhroli line, and the Thane-Aarey Colony line. The project is expected to commence in October 2023, with first-line development completion by 2025.

Kharghar-Vikhroli line will consist of 220 KV and 400 KV transmission lines, along with a 400 KV substation. Post-completion of the Kharghar-Vikhroli line, Thane-Aarey Colony line’s construction will begin, with completion expected by 2027.

Recently, Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) attained financial closure for USD 1 billion (about INR 8,244 crore) for its Mumbai-based high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission link project in Mumbai, as stated in an August 7, 2023, PR. The project will cover 80 kilometers connecting Kudus to Aarey in Mumbai. Its construction will commence in October 2023.
