We are here as part of team South Africa, a partner country to Cable & Wire Fair for the 2017 edition. We are here to speak to some of the cable and wire manufacturers to invest into South Africa through partnerships and to use South Africa as an infrastructural hub to export into the rest of Africa.
I was quite pleasantly surprised to hear that the exhibition itself has increased in the number of participants. I felt that it was a good networking platform. There were innumerable inquiries. The conference was very well organized and I felt that the topics were really relevant. A lot of Indian companies have shown interest to partner with South Africa, specially the power cable manufacturing.
Generally, the visitors were surprised to find that the South African Govt. is putting policies for investment into South Africa. We were able to successfully inform visitors about various incentive programs facilitating the installation of cable making plants in South Africa.

It was a good experience and I am completely satisfied. There were more people than I expected to be here. The show provided a good exposure to the steel wire industry in general. To be honest, I wasn’t sure whether I should come or not because it is the first time that we are here. Last year, we were in Mumbai for the exhibition. I am really impressed by the professional way of organizing the exhibition. The hall looks nice. Also, the frequency of the customers and visitors in my opinion is great. We are a leading polymer compound manufacturing company supplying specialty plastics to customers across the globe. One of the reasons we chose to participate in this exhibition is that we wanted to announce our investment in India. We will come up with a new compounding line in 2018. The exhibition has been very positive. We had a string of interesting inquiries. We got to meet our existing customers and new people through this exhibition. The response from the visitors was pretty good. The nature of our business is that we sell big machines. It’s not like that you sell a machine in a particular show. It’s a process where we have to discuss commercial and technical details. In spite of that, we made a good number of contacts. This one was first one for me in Delhi. We usually do shows in other parts of India. It is good to be in Delhi too.

Sampsistemi represents the oldest company of the SAMP Group. We are an Italian company, who produce machinery for wire and cable. We participated in the first edition as well in 2015. This edition is even better than the first one. The fair recorded good amount of footfall this year. We will definitely participate in the next edition. The response from the visitors has been quite interesting. We made new contacts and met new people through this exhibition. It is hard to compete in India, but it is important to expand our relationships.

We made new customers here. As this was our first time in Delhi, many didn’t know about Viraj. Thanks to CWF, we got a chance to make relationship with new customers. Now when they are beginning to know us, they are very much willing to buy metal from us. They visited us from New Delhi, Faridabad, Noida and many other places. It has been a success participating in this exhibition. Though we thought exhibiting in other wire and cable exhibitions, this is the first time in Delhi. The Indian Government is promoting the e-beam technology. That’s why more and more wire and cable companies visited our stalls. They are discussing about the e-beam technology with us. We have more than 400 e-beam lines in China but in India the number is anywhere from 1-20. I think if the Indian Govt. push hard we, will be able to supply more. We would definitely like to exhibit in the next exhibition. It has really proved helpful in developing good contacts.
